Bleach using edge of card

Design suggested cross hatched lines - created a bed of straight stitches in a darker variegated thread. Then used a lighter variegated straight stitch for the "z" lines - it didn't liik light enough so a glitter thread was used over the top - this did give a watery shimmery effect to the stitching and the colours used give a rough textured effect.

Unfortunately when dissolved there wasn't enough linkages with the stitches to hold it all together but the pieces could still be positioned together by hand stitching in place.

Cable straight stitch on top of previously cut out fabric - to reflect the textures of the bleached out areas. This has created a beautiful textured lacey effect.

Design suggested straight stitch cross hatching - used glisten and light turqoise for the lighter areas to create finer strips - then blue for the mid sections - I did consider adding a third colour in the darker area but decided when the sample was dissolved it could be placed over a darker colour blue fabric.
