I selected Mary-Anne Morrison as I particularly liked the way fabric has been manipulated and stitched to create movement and flow which is relevant to the theme of water and sky.

Mary-Anne Morrison is a selected member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen and the 62 Group of Textile Artists. Mary-Anne's holds solo exhibitions and pieces of work tour nationally and internationally.

Mary-Anne trained under Julia Caprara with Opus School of Textile Art. She experiments with unexpected materials making highly individual 3D sculptural forms involving swirling rhythms, continuous circular movement and multiples. These dynamic sculptural textiles are made from varying materials which are stitched with thread. Mary-Anne allows her sculptural forms to develop in the direction dictated both by the material and the techniques of stitching, claiming only to intervene only to balance the piece rather than control it. Usually working in monochrome and sometimes introducing colour, she makes connections and achieves a harmonious whole.

Mary-Anne has currently developed a new technique with wearable art. She makes unique Fascinators and Neck Ruffs.
